Traditional Hunting to Hounds 
with an Australian Backdrop

Hunting to hounds began in Australia in 1811, and since it's introduction The Sydney Hunt Club has hunted periodically in the Sydney and Southern Highlands areas.  Hunting is a great non competitive day for riders as well as non-riders, and is also a great training ground for eventing riders wanting to improve fitness and give horses exposure to different environments.   
The Sydney Hunt Club currently has 13 and a half couple (27 hounds) kennelled and worked by The Huntsman, Donnchadh Brown.  Donnchadh is a keen and dedicated rider from Ireland who has hunted with a variety of clubs throughout Ireland, the UK, America. 2018 will be his seventh season as Huntsman of the Sydney Hunt Club.  

The Club is proud to be a member of Equestrian Australia and actively promotes rider & horse safety.  

Visitors can hunt with The Club for a Day Member Fee of $100 per Day for Adults and $30 for Ages 18 and Under - Click here to find out more about range of Membership Categories

​2018 Hunt Calendar
Our 2018 Season will commence around Easter. The Hunt Calendar will be released in March 2018 on the Hunt Calendar Page

In 2018, we anticipate our Huntsman and Staff will commence around Easter, with the first Open Day about three weeks later

If you would like to come hunting but don't have a horse, our Huntsman, Donnchadh Brown has Horses for Hire.
